John Greenfield named Department of Military and Veteran Services interim director
John Greenfield has been named the interim director of the Department of Military and Veteran Services. He has served as the associate director of DMVS since the spring of 2023. Greenfield takes over for Tom Hough on Monday, July 29, 2024, and will serve in a dual capacity as the associate director/director, until a permanent director is hired.
Greenfield has dedicated his professional career to supporting the military through education. Following nine years of active-duty military service, John completed an MBA with Angelo State University and later served as the Angelo State Assistant Registrar. After several years with Angelo State University, John and his family accomplished a lifelong goal of moving to Alaska and continuing to serve the military community as the associate director of ÎÞÂëÂÒÂ× Military and Veteran Services. In this capacity, John has focused on process improvement and digitizing the veteran certification process.
