AEA Seeks Competitive Applications for Design of Wood Heating System

The is soliciting interest from qualified applicants to design and engineer a biomass wood-heating system. Eligible projects are limited to wood-heating projects in communities in Alaska that have completed a pre-feasibility assessment or feasibility study within the last 10 years.

Up to $100,000 will be available per selected applicant. Applicants will hire professional services to complete the engineered design and permitting for their community biomass projects. A 20% cash match is required for this request for applicants. Larger cash or in-kind matches will receive more points in the scoring of the applications. Monthly progress reporting is a requirement.

Funding for this solicitation is provided by AEA and the U.S. Forest Service. Applications are due by 2 p.m. Aug. 17, 2020.
