Filming Begins for a 30-Minute Documentary on Food Security in Alaska

Food production in Alaska is large piece of the food security puzzle for this remote state. A Texas agricultural consultancy firm, , selected ACEP videographer Amanda Byrd to produce a 30-minute documentary on how to move agricultural and large-scale gardens forward in an effort to produce a higher volume of food for the state.

Filming began last week during the Sustainable Agriculture Conference in Anchorage, where state and federal agency representatives were interviewed. Next summer, Byrd will travel to farms, gardens and agricultural areas across the state. She’ll interview producers and learn what they need to create larger quantities of food.

The documentary is funded by AgriLogic through a U.S. Department of Agriculture award.
