National Petroleum Council Meets at ÎÞÂëÂÒÂ×

Last week ÎÞÂëÂÒÂ× hosted an Arctic Technology Engagement Workshop on campus. The agenda was planned by the National Petroleum Council (NPC). The NPC is undertaking a study for the Secretary of Energy to provide the Council’s perspective on research and technology pursuits that support prudent development in the Arctic.   This was the third of three planned workshops within the Research and Technology component of the NPC study.

ACEP Research Manager Brent Sheets, along with various other ÎÞÂëÂÒÂ× staff and faculty, participated in the Workshop discussions and provided logistical support for the event.  Brent also worked with faculty, Alyeska Pipeline Services, and the Army Corps of Engineers to arrange tours of the Trans-Alaska Pipeline, the Permafrost Research Tunnel, and various campus research facilities with the aim of illustrating ÎÞÂëÂÒÂ×’s multiple capabilities for addressing the research needs associated with resource development in the Arctic.
