ACEP Researcher Travels to Las Vegas in Support of DOE Wind Competition

Daisy Huang will travel to Las Vegas this week in support of ÎÞÂëÂÒÂ×’s Collegiate Wind Competition team.  The national Competition, organized by the DOE, will take place alongside the American Wind Energy Association’s (AWEA) WINDPOWER® 2014 Conference & Exhibition.

The ÎÞÂëÂÒÂ× team, an  interdisciplinary group composed of both engineering and business majoring students, is one of ten entrants that were selected competitively from a nationwide pool.  The goal of the competition  is to design and  build a personal-sized wind turbine, intended for charging small electronics and field devices while in remote off grid locations.  Scoring is based on power generation, cut-in wind speed, and robustness.

In addition to supporting ÎÞÂëÂÒÂ×’s team, Daisy will also be attending the WINDPOWER® 2014 Conference with the goal of networking and gaining new knowledge on the latest developments in the wind power industry in America.
